Full Tilt Poker have always been one of the great innovators of the online poker world. Creations such as Matrix Sit ‘n Go’s, Cashout Tournaments and the ever-popular Rush Poker format have brought a whole new level to the game to disprove the theory that No Limit Holdem is stale. Well, they’ve done it once again with the introduction of Multi-Entry Tournaments. Yes, it’s true. Finally Josh Field, Sorel Mizzi and Justin Bonomo have a tournament format to call their own.

How does it work? Well, as the name suggests you are allowed to buy-in multiple times into the one tournament. You can choose to do this at the start of the tournament, or use it as a second chance, similar to a rebuy, if you bust out early. Your multiple entries will never play on the same table, and if you have more entries in the tournament than there are tables, then your entries will merge so that this situation never occurs. It is possible to have two or more entries reach the money, but you’ll never have multiple entries on the final table. There is also a maximum number of entries allowable. This varies for each tournament, and will be displayed in the tournament lobby.

You can keep track of the progress of all of your entries in the tournament lobby with the handy “Show My Entrants” check box at the top of the player list. Will poker ever be the same again? It seems with all of the new innovations, formats and novelties that traditional poker may never be the same again. Is this a good thing for poker? Some of our PNW members have discussed this evolution in our forums.

If you’re interested in trying out the new Multi-Entry Tournament format then you can download Full Tilt Poker here, then head to the tournament lobby and look out for the new Multi-Entry icon listed against the tournaments. It certainly looks like another winner for Full Tilt and we’re sure plenty of fun will be had with the new Multi-Table Tournament format.

When trying to improve your poker game, especially your online game, you’ll want to use all the poker tools at your disposal. One of the poker software you may have heard of is the poker calculator. There are two types of poker calculators that you may be using to improve your game.

Basic Poker Odds Calculator

A basic poker odds calculator is one that works right out of your web browser. Using this poker calculator simply requires that you remember the parameters of the hand you wish to look at. You input the hands that were against each other and the card that came on the flop, if it had been dealt, then click to calculate your poker odds of winning the hand. This can tell you if you made a correct call or if you didn’t.

Victoria’s gambling regulator has approved plans for a poker machine venue in Beaconsfield in Melbourne’s outer south-east, where children will be kept in a fully enclosed and soundproof playroom.

The room will be positioned so the children are in full-view of the venue’s poker machines, so parents can monitor their children from the gaming room. State Opposition spokesman Michael O’Brien says government policy is to blame for the approval, and the design must be changed.

“It is absolutely extraordinary the commission can allow a venue to startup which encourages parents to bring their kids and leave them in a soundproof room while they go off and play the pokies,” he said.

“This is John Brumby’s commission, applying John Brumby’s laws.” He says the plan is one step away from having a window onto the car park where children have been left in cars.

“We should be encouraging parents to properly supervise their children, and it is not proper supervision to say that it is okay to leave them in a soundproof room, as long as you can occasionally look in through a window,” he said.

Mr O’Brien says it is inappropriate for young children to be so close to poker machines. “There is a lot of research that shows that the earlier the children are exposed to gambling, the greater at risk they are of developing gambling problems themselves,” he said.

“This is actually being used as a marketing tool to encourage parents to expose their kids to gambling at an early age.”

Blackjack is a card game with various combination, which makes this card game very exciting. You will be playing against the dealer, and your goal is to accumulate up to 21 points, closer than that of the dealer’s points, but never go over 21. Each player will get two cards, and after dealing you will decide upon taking another card or not. If you have a Blackjack (composed of two cards, an ace and a ten-value card) than you have the strongest combination, unless the dealer has the same. If the value in your hand is higher than the dealer’s you win!

You can play single hand or multi-hand Blackjack. No matter which type you choose the beauty of the game is that you don’t have to count only on luck, but you can develop strategies, based on you gambling or card playing experiences. Having a good strategy will give you high chances of winning!

If you are a sit and go player, the name of the game is survival. It’s all about making it to the final three spots, so you can make the money and come out with a profit. The key to surviving is to avoid making huge mistakes, and new players all make very similar mistakes early in a sit and go.

Act a Fool

Play Loose

Underestimate Opponents

Multi-Task

Overestimate Draws

Act a Fool – The easiest way to quickly bust in a sit and go is to play like a maniac. Often times when I play low stakes sit and go’s I see players entering almost every pot preflop, and losing a ton of chips with poor hands. Also, they go way too far with these hands, and lose way more chips than they should. A perfect example of this is when a player raises a pot with KJ early in a sit and go, hit middle pair, and get all in. Why would you do that? It just doesn’t make sense.

Play Loose – One mistake I see over and over in sit and go’s is players who see over 40% of the flops, even during the early stages. The only excuse for seeing that many flops is if you’re getting Aces or Kings 40% of the time, and that is a pretty ridiculous proposition. Amateurs like to play hands like 910 suited even for a raise, and that is a losing play that will surely get you stacked eventually.

Underestimate Opponents – Even if you’re playing at a low stakes sit and go table, you can never take your opponents too lightly. For example, I was recently in a $5 sit and go and was dealt AA. I raised it up, and had one caller. The flop was K54, and my opponent bet out into me.

At this point I surely put him on KQ or KJ, so I re-raised him. After that, he went all in, and I quickly called. He had 44, and knocked me out. If this were a higher stakes sit and go I would have questioned his bet into me on the flop, but since it was a low stakes game I figured he was just making a foolish play.

Multi-Task – No matter how good of a poker player you are, it is important to focus on the task at hand. If you’re playing online poker while cooking, cleaning, watching TV, and chatting with friends, you’re doomed to have a bad session. Because of this, you should always focus on the poker game. Even if you’re multi tabling you’ll still be way better off by focusing solely on the computer instead of other tasks.

Overestimate Draws – Another super common mistake I see at the low stakes tables is players getting it all-in early with just a draw. You’re supposed to stay tight during the early stages of a sit and go, and the only time you should get your whole stack in is when you’re sure you have the best of it. A flush draw or a straight draw is definitely not the best of it.
